On the 16th of June, Gerhard Backfried and Dorothea Thomas-Aniola (HENSOLDT Analytics), together with Edith Huber (Danube University Krems) participated in the Forum KI 2021 of the Bundeskriminalamt (BKA).

They provided insights on joint work regarding the collaboration of AI and human analysts in identifying hate speech and hate crime in social media, as well as the possible uses of technologies in automated recognition of hate speech online.

The Forum KI event, held by the Criminalist Institute of the Bundeskriminalamt (das Kriminalistische Institut des BKA), is a platform for the exchange of information between research organizations and law enforcement on federal and state levels. The goal of the event is to create opportunities for informing holistic strategies for the fight against crime with relevant scientific research.
