Last year, the Computer Vision department at HENSOLDT Analytics welcomed Simon Goldhofer, a working Master’s student, to the team.

Simon has a strong interest in data science applications in engineering as well as machine learning, which is reflected in the educational and professional opportunities he had pursued to date. He completed his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich in 2020. Throughout his bachelor’s and master’s studies, he took on several work opportunities and internships reflecting his passion for product development. These included a working student position in the field of vehicle dynamics and method development at the BMW Group, as well as an internship in robotics at Novo Nordisk in Copenhagen. Between 2017 and 2020, he was part of Hydro2Motion, a student team of the University of Applied Sciences Munich, developing a hydrogen fuel cell prototype vehicle. In recent years, Simon became interested in adding computer-aided design, AI, machine learning and neural network modelling to his broad skillset and has been involved in a variety of work placements and student projects related to those topics.

Simon joined HENSOLDT Analytics in October 2022 to gain more experience in computer vision and natural language processing and to write his master’s thesis titled “Adapting State of the Art Temporal Sentence Grounding Models for Long Videos.”

We are happy to have you with us, Simon!
