During this Intelligence Webinar, Mark Pfeiffer, Chief Visionary Officer at HENSOLDT Analytics, presented a deep-dive into the topic of Hybrid Warfare in Europe, taking into considerations the recent developments in Ukraine.
Together with our external guest Colonel (GS) Dipl.-Inform. MPA Sönke Marahrens, Director CoI Strategy & Defense at the European Centre of Excellence for Countering Hybrid Threats in Helsinki, Finland, they discussed what can be classified as a vulnerability in the hybrid warfare; the existing vulnerabilities of the European states, as well as how OSINT can be used as a situational awareness tool in conflict situations.

Mark Pfeiffer
Chief Visionary Officer, HENSOLDT Analytics
Educated in Germany and the United States in economics and aeronautics, Mark is the Chief Visionary Officer at HENSOLDT Analytics. He has spent more than two decades consulting in those fields and works in many nations across the globe primarily in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. His clients include various international government bodies as well as governments and participants of the air transport system. He joined HENSOLDT Analytics in 2003 also as a shareholder and has built up the governmental partner network and business, spanning most of the globe. In 2006 he co-founded the EUROSINT forum as a venue for exchange of ideas and concepts. His trainings in the OSINT domain are highly customized to the clients’ needs and he can draw from many years of customer interaction.
Sönke Marahrens
Director CoI Strategy & Defense at the European Centre of Excellence for Countering Hybrid Threats
Sönke Marahrens holds a Diploma in Computer Science of University of the Armed Forces in Munich, a MPA from the Royal Military College in Canada, a Master’s in Military Leadership and International Security Politics from the Helmut Schmidt University, Hamburg, and an Executive Business Master from CASD, Rome, Italy.
By training, he is a German Air Force NATO Air Defence Officer with different leadership and managerial positions incl. Defence Planning Office and German MOD, as well as Battalion Commander. Furthermore, he is a renowned expert for applied military research in the field of Modelling & Simulation, Operations Research and Concept Development and Experimentation.
